This. Dean is fucking smart. I’m sure he’s as smart as Sam and if he had the chance to go to school and actually focus on school like Sam did, I’m sure he’d be smarter. But his dad wanted him to be the hunter and the solider and Dean didn’t want to disappoint. Sam was the one that was going to school and being taken care of and being made sure he did his best in life, so Dean had to be the hunter. Dean had to be what his dad wanted. Dean had to be the best hunter he could be so John would actually give Sam some rope and let him go to school and actually try to go somewhere in life.
